Ingredients for 3 people:
300 g dry chestnuts, red wine, 1 cinnamon stick, cloves, 2 tablespoons sugar
Pour the chestnuts into a deep pan. Add cinnamon sticks, some cloves and sugar (increasing the dose to taste).
Cover with wine, adjust heat to the minimum and cook for about two hours, mixing occasionally and checking that the mixture does not stick to the bottom.
Chestnuts are ready when they become tender.
You can omit or add other flavors and spices if you will. A tasty variant is also obtained with sweet Albana wine.
